Terms and Conditions
Last updated: 7.23.2026
1. Agreement
These Terms and Conditions govern your use of littlestoryatelier.com and any purchase you make from Little Story Atelier ("we," "us," "our"). By placing an order, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully — in particular Section 7, which explains that personalized books are final sale.
2. Products
We sell custom-made, personalized printed children's books. Each book is produced individually to your specifications after your order is placed. We are not a stock retailer and do not hold finished inventory.
Illustrations, colors, and product photography on our site are representative. Slight variation in color, trim, and binding is normal in printing and is not considered a defect.
3. Personalization content you provide
To create your book, you provide us with information such as your child's name, physical description, and any photographs or reference images.
By submitting this content, you confirm that:
You are at least 18 years old;
You are the parent or legal guardian of the child depicted, or you have that person's permission;
You have the right to share the content with us;
The content is not unlawful, offensive, or infringing on anyone else's rights.
You keep ownership of everything you send us. You grant us a limited license to use it solely to design, produce, and deliver your order, and to provide customer support. We will not use your child's name, likeness, or photographs for marketing or any other purpose without your separate written permission.
We reserve the right to decline or cancel any order containing content we consider unlawful, harmful, or inappropriate, and will issue a full refund in that case.
4. Orders and personalization details
Placing an order is an offer to purchase. Your order is accepted when we confirm it by email.
After you order, we will email you to collect your personalization details. The details you send us are final and are used exactly as submitted. We do not provide a digital proof or a preview before printing.
You are solely responsible for the accuracy of the details you provide, including the spelling of names, dates, and any other text. We reproduce what you send us. Errors in the information you submit are not eligible for a free replacement or refund.
If we have not received your personalization details within 30 days of your order, we may contact you and, if we still receive no response, cancel the order and issue a refund.
5. Prices and payment
All prices are in US dollars. Current prices are:
The Signature Edition — $59.00
The Heirloom Edition — $99.00
Shipping — $6.99 flat rate (US and Canada)
Prices may change at any time, but the price shown at the time you place your order is the price you pay. Payment is processed securely by Stripe; we never see or store your full card details.
Any customs duties, import taxes, or brokerage fees on international deliveries are the recipient's responsibility.
6. Shipping and delivery
We currently ship to the United States and Canada.
Estimated timelines are approximately 10 business days for production plus 5-7 business days in transit. These are estimates, not guarantees. Production time begins once we have received your complete personalization details, not when you place your order.
Risk of loss passes to you on delivery. You are responsible for providing a complete and accurate shipping address; we are not responsible for orders delivered to an address entered incorrectly at checkout.
If a package is lost or significantly delayed in transit, contact us, and we will work with the carrier and, where appropriate, send a replacement.
7. Returns, cancellations, and refunds
7.1 Personalized products are final sale
Because every book is custom-made and personalized for an individual child, all sales are final. We do not accept returns, exchanges, or refunds for change of mind, buyer's remorse, or errors in the information you supplied.
A personalized book cannot be restocked, resold, or reused.
7.2 Cancellation window
You may cancel your order for a full refund within 24 hours of placing it. To cancel, email [EMAIL] within that window with your order number. After 24 hours, your order moves into production and cannot be cancelled or refunded.
7.3 What we do cover
Nothing in these terms limits your rights under applicable consumer protection law. We will replace or refund your order, at our discretion and at no cost to you, if:
The book arrives physically damaged;
The book has a manufacturing or printing defect;
The book does not match the personalization details you submitted;
We shipped the wrong item;
Your package is confirmed lost in transit.
To make a claim, email hello@littlestoryatelier.com within 14 days of delivery with your order number and clear photographs of the issue. We may ask you to keep the item; we will not normally ask you to ship it back.
7.4 Customer error
If a book was printed correctly according to the details you submitted but those details were incorrect (for example, a misspelled name), we are not able to offer a free replacement or refund. We are happy to produce a corrected book at a discounted reprint rate — contact us for details.
8. Intellectual property
All story text, illustrations, characters, designs, logos, and website content are owned by Little Story Atelier and protected by copyright and trademark law.
Your purchase gives you ownership of the physical book and the right to enjoy it personally. It does not transfer any rights in the underlying story or artwork. You may not reproduce, scan, redistribute, or commercially exploit the book's contents.
9. Privacy and how we handle photographs
We collect only what we need to create and deliver your order. We do not sell your personal information.
Photographs. Any photographs you send us are used solely as visual reference for creating your child's illustrations. They are deleted from our systems as soon as your book is complete. We do not use your child's name, image, or likeness in our marketing, on our website, or on social media without your express written permission.
AI-generated illustrations. Illustrations are generated using Google's AI image service under their business terms, which prohibit using customer data to train their models. Every book is reviewed by a person before it goes to print.
See the FAQs for full details.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including missed occasions such as birthdays or holidays where delivery is delayed by a carrier or by circumstances beyond our control.
Small parts and paper products are not suitable for unsupervised infants. Adult supervision is recommended.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The version in effect on the date you place your order is the version that applies to that order.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
