What makes these books personalized?

Every book is built around your child. You choose their name, their appearance, and the details that make them them — and we weave those into the story and the illustrations. No two books are the same.

What's the difference between the Signature and the Heirloom Edition?

The Signature Edition ($59) is our core personalized storybook — your child as the hero, printed in premium hardcover. The Heirloom Edition ($99) includes everything in the Signature, plus deeper personalization and keepsake details designed to be passed down.

What ages are these books for?

They're written for little readers — ideal as a read-aloud for babies and toddlers, and as a first "read it yourself" book as they grow.

What are the books made of?

Premium hardcover with thick, durable pages, printed on quality paper made to survive real bedtimes and many, many re-readings.

Ordering & personalization

How do I personalize my book?

Right after you place your order, we'll email you a short form to collect your child's name and details. Once you send those back to us, we start creating your book.

How careful do I need to be with the details I send?

Very. We print your book exactly as you write it to us — spelling, spacing, capitalization, everything. Please double-check your child's name before you hit send, because we can't correct it afterward.

Can I change or cancel my order?

You can cancel for a full refund within 24 hours of placing your order. After that, your book moves into production and can no longer be changed or cancelled.

What if I don't send my details right away?

No problem — your order waits for you. We'll send a reminder if we haven't heard from you. Just note that the 24-hour cancellation window runs from when you place your order, not from when you send your details.

Your child's photos & privacy

What happens to the photo I send you?

Photos are used only as reference for your illustrations and are deleted from our systems as soon as your book is complete. We never use your child's photo, name, or likeness in our marketing, on our website, or on social media without asking you first, in writing.

Do you use AI to make the illustrations?

Yes — illustrations are generated using Google's AI image service under their business terms, which prohibit using customer data to train their models. Every book is then reviewed by a human before it goes to print.

Shipping

Where do you ship?

The United States and Canada.

How much is shipping?

A flat $6.99, anywhere in the US and Canada.

How long will it take?

Roughly 10 business days to create and print your book once we have your details, plus 5-7 business days in transit. You'll get a tracking number as soon as it ships.

Will I get tracking?

Yes — emailed to you automatically the moment your book is on its way.

Returns

Can I return my book?

Because every book is made to order and personalized specifically for your child, we cannot accept returns or exchanges, and all sales are final. There's no way to resell or reuse a book with your child's name in it. Please review your details carefully before sending them to us.

What if my book arrives damaged or there's a printing error?

We'll absolutely make that right. If your book arrives damaged, defective, or doesn't match the details you sent us, email us at hello@littlestoryatelier.com within 14 days with photos and we'll reprint and reship it at no cost to you.

What if my package is lost?

What if I misspelled my child's name?

We print exactly what you send us, so we're not able to cover misspellings after the fact. We can create a corrected book for you at a discounted reprint rate — just email us.

Gifts & other

Can I send a book directly to someone as a gift?

Yes — just enter their address as the shipping address at checkout.

Do you offer gift wrapping or a gift note?

No, we don't offer gift wrapping or a gift note.
